The meditation pool of Shuiyue Zen Temple covers an area of 12800 square meters. Water lilies are distributed in 6 pools, mainly on the north side of DaxiongBao Hall and the east and west sides of Tianwangdian Hall. It is dominated by Siamese jasmine, yellow Joy and gemstone. There are about 4800 plants in total and they are generally open from May to September each year.
The difference between water lilies and lotus flowers:
1.Lotus leaves: jutting out of the water, are rounded without cracks.
Water lily leaves: Floating on the surface of the water, the pages have V-shaped cracks.
2.Lotus root: form "lotus root".
Water lily rhizomes: Irregular rhizomes will not form "lotus root"
3.The flower of lotus: The receptacle is half conical, and it grows into lotus seed in autumn.
The flower of water lily: The flower has no lotus seed.
